I write about solidarity organizing, policy and politics, language learning, multilingual education, andragogy, community colleges, and other topics. Commentary I've written has appeared in The Washington Post, The Forward, The Baltimore Sun, The East Bay Express, La Letra Capciosa, Maryland Matters, The Afro, Ed Week, Language Magazine, and other outlets. I am the co-editor with Prof. Antione Tomlin, PhD, of the book When We Hear Them: Attuning Teachers to Language Diverse Students (2024) from Information Age Publishing. I earned undergraduate degrees in history, government & politics, and Latin American studies, a MA in TESOL, and am currently a doctorate of education student at University of Virginia.
